Rekrytering

AI in recruitment

2 minutes

We reflect on AI in recruitment – opportunities, risks and how AI can be used as a tool for development rather than replacement.

As AI grows stronger and more present in our everyday lives, the number of voices about what the technology means for us is also increasing. How do we at Unik Resurs view AI in recruitment?

AI as an extension of our human capabilities

Our CEO Peter Undén reflects:

On a personal level, I have been using AI for a long time and today I use generative AI (like ChatGPT) daily. What fascinates me is not just what AI does, but what it enables. It helps us gain insights faster, bounce ideas around, and create value with more precision.

But it is crucial that we do not let AI do everything for us. We need to continue to train our creativity, our critical thinking and our ability to understand complex contexts – otherwise we risk losing what makes us uniquely human.

AI in recruitment – opportunities and risks

There are already many applications in recruitment:

  • Text management
  • Support in requirements profiling work
  • Matching against ATS databases
  • Language and channel-optimized employer branding materials
  • Visions of the future

But there are also challenges, such as the risk of losing business understanding when we rely too much on AI. Or that we neglect personal data and information security when we use free AI services without thinking about the consequences.

There is also a more fundamental risk: that AI as a decision support tool can reinforce old patterns if we are not careful. Selection must always be done with context, understanding and thought – otherwise we do our customers and candidates a disservice.

It’s not about an AI strategy

We don’t believe that every company needs a separate AI strategy. We believe that every company needs a clear business strategy – and in that strategy think about where AI can contribute.

When we start with our challenges, our goals and our customers, AI becomes a valuable tool.
